Edward Yoder, 1893-1945
contained in 10 boxes

Biographical Sketch

Edward Yoder taught Latin and Greek at Hesston College, (1920-23, 1928-32) and at Goshen College, (1926-28, 1933-38), and was well remembered by students for his ernest disposition, academic
abilities. He was Dean at Hesston, (1929-32) and Dean of Men at Goshen College, (1935-37).

Later in life he moved to Scottdale, Pennsylvania and served at the Mennonite Publishing House as an editor. He was involved at Scottdale Mennonite Church and was buried there in 1945. Estie Miller was his wife, and they had one son, Virgil Edward Yoder.

Yoder is remembered by many as a scholar, teacher, and editor. His journals proved that his creative and observant energies did not stop at the end of his work-day, rather he was a prolific writer in an informal nature also.
