Scope and Content

    These papers pertain to Milo D. Stutzman's work in the Salem Congregation, Tofield, Alberta, and in the Alberta-Saskatchewan Conference (later called Northwest Conference).

Biographical Sketch

1886    Milo D. Stutzman was born near Milford, Nebraska, January 18, 1886, the youngest child of David E. and Susanna Stutzman

1902    He was baptized at the East Fairview Church, Milford, Nebraska

1907    Stutzman married Barbara Birky, (b. 1886, d. 1952).

1911    The Stutzman family moved to Tofield, Alberta, where he served the Salem Congregation as Sunday School Superintendent 1912-1913.

1913    Stutzman was ordained to the office of deacon by lot to serve the Salem congregation.

1914    He was ordained as minister in the Salem congregation.

1919    Stutzman received the consent of the congregation for a leave of absence of a few years to attend Hesston College and Bible School.

1923    Stutzman graduated from the Bible Academy of Hesston College and returned to Tofield where he made his home on his farm and continued serving the Salem congregation as minister, but was also used throughout the Alberta-Saskatchewan Conference (later called Northwest Conference) district in various capacities, as teacher, evangelist, singing teacher, and the conference secretary.
