Biographical Sketch

Silas Smucker, born December 31, 1904 in Elkhart County was an agriculturist He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in New Jersey and Indiana. He and his wife (Esther Meck, 1904-1986) served with Mennonite Central Committee in Haiti and with the U.S. Department of State in Laos in the early 60's.
