Introduction

These papers have been kept in the order they were found in the original family notebooks. They contain genealogical notes, family anecdotes, accounts of emigration and pioneering, poems, prayers, essays, clippings, and other materials of interest to the Ropps, particularly Christian Se. (1812-1896), Christian Jr. (1837-1929) and Edwin O. (1874-1932). The Baechler, Clauden and Bohrer families are also documented.
