Hist. Mss. 1-127
Millard C. Lind, 1918-    , Collection
Papers, 1926-1998
6 Boxes (1 Green, 5 Large)

Scope and Content

These materials range from Lind’s personal writings back in 1926 to his study of the Clinton Frame Mennonite Church for a Goshen College paper in 1942.  It includes a file concerning his Master’s Thesis in 1953 and his manuscript material on his book God is a Warrior (1980), which
is based on his Th. D. dissertation (Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, 1963). The files include Lind’s involvement in the Allegheny Mennonite Conference and the Mennonite churches in Scottdale, 1948-56. The bulk of the materials relates to Lind’s writings, 1963-1997, his Th.D. Degree (1963), his correspondence, 1957-97, and his manuscript God is a Warrior (1980).

Administrative Information

Box 1 of these papers were deposited into the Archives by Millard Lind, Goshen, Indiana, in 1955 and in the 1970’s. Lind deposited Boxes 2-6 in 1998.

In 1986, Box 1 was organized Bryan Kehr and/or J. Kevin Miller.  A preliminary inventory listing of Boxes 2-6 was done of the collection by Dennis Stoesz in 1998, and Nelda Nussbaum listed the individual files in all the boxes in 2004.
