Biographical Sketch
H. James Martin (Nov. 26, 1923 - May 29, 1987) spent
most of his life as a missionary in Montevideo, Uruguay. He
married Anna M. (Swartzendruber) (born Nov. 17, 1922). They
worked under the Mennonite Board of Missions (Headquarters, Elkhart,
Indiana), beginning their work in Uruguay in 1954 (see folder, Articles
and Report, for detailed descriptions of the work there). After
H. James Martin’s death, Anna married to Daniel Kauffman, Goshen,
Indiana, in 1991.
