The Complete Works of Menno Simons, John F. Funk, Elkhart, Indiana, 1871. "Jonas
Loucks. Bought of Mary Burkholder in the year 1923. Simon Hostetler in year
1938." It is surmised that Loucks bought this book from Mary Burkholder in
1923, after her husband, David Burkholder had died. And that Simon Hostetler
acquired it after the death of Jonas Loucks. Simon Hostetler was a grandson
of Jonas Loucks through his marriage to Hazel Wenger, daughter of Susannah
(Loucks) and Noah Wenger.
Correspondence and Hoover Family Record, 1873
Correspondence from John F. Funk to David
Burkholder, 1880s?
Hoover Family Record, 1873. "A Record of the Hoover Family
in Canada and the United States...dated this 25th day of
January, A.D. 1873, at my residence, Altona, Ontario, Canada,
Samuel Hoover." Contains information mostly on the John
and Susannah (Kurtz) Hoover Family, of which Samuel Hoover
was a son. This information was found in the Jonas Loucks
Family Bible, which is in the possession of Ephraim Loucks,
Goshen, Indiana, 1963. Jonas Loucks married Anna Ramer,
daughter of Deacon Tobias and Esther (Hoover) Ramer on
July 30, 1876, and thus the Hoover connection.
