Introduction
Daniel Kauffman (1865-1944) was a
Mennonite bishop, author, teacher, and leader. He was the president of
Goshen College in 1922-23 and the editor of the Gospel Herald from
1908-43.

1908-43 Editor of the Gospel Herald; author of many books
1909 Moved to Scottdale, Pennsylvania

Boxes 1-3 Correspondence
Arranged chronologically 1907-1943. Much of the correspondence,
especially form 1907-1915, is concerned with the work of the
Publication Board. In the 1920's much of it centers around Gospel
Herald articles and the conservative-liberal controversies.
Correspondents during this time include John L. Stauffer, Rudy Senger,
Paul Whitmer, G.R. Brunk, N.O. Blosser, and J.E. Hartzler. D.H. Bender
is also a prominent correspondent on many church problems. In the years
1924 and 1925 much correspondence is devoted to the troubles at the
church in Elida, Ohio. In the 30's the correspondence often centers
around the securing of information for the Mennonite Cyclopedic
Dictionary.
