Biographical Sketch

Minister at Canton Mennonite Mission (1923-1926) and Beech Mennonite Church (1925-1960), both of Ohio; Ordained Bishop in 1925 and at one time or another had oversight over 28 churches in the Ohio and Eastern Mennonite Conference (no more than 18 at a time); Assistant Moderator, Ohio conference, 1925; Secretary, Mennonite Publishing Board, 1927-1949; Member, YPPC of Mennonite General Conference, 1927-1938; Assistant Moderator, Mennonite General Conference, 1932-1933; Executive Committee, Ohio Mennonite Sunday School Conference, 1924-1938; Sponsor of the first Young People’s Institute in Ohio.
