    These papers were deposited into the Archives by Howard and Miriam Charles, Goshen, Indiana, in 1999.  A copy of the Memorial Service was deposited by Pastor Steve Slagel, East Goshen Mennonite Church, Goshen, Indiana, in 2002.  An additional five boxes were deposited by Miriam Charles in 2002.

    It may be hard to separate Charles’ focus on books of the Bible, and his involvement in the church, since I expect that his contribution lay in interpreting the Bible for the church.  However, I have made this separation with the files identified as “social issues”, etc.
