Introduction

This collection consists of the papers of Henry Brenneman (1791-1866) and Henry B. Brenneman (1831-1887). The Brennemans were an important family of leaders in Ohio during much of the nineteenth century, also influential throughout much of the Mennonite world of their day. Henry B. Brenneman later moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where he helped create a Sunday school curriculum for the Mennonite Publishing Company. (A more detailed biographical summary is found in box 1, folder 1b)
