Biographical Sketch

Moses S. Bowman (1819-1898) was a Mennonite minister and leader in Ontario.

1819 Born on November 9 to Benjamin Baumann and Susannah Bechtel near Berlin, Ontario

1844 Married Anna Cressman; together they had 6 daughters and 6 sons.

1845 Moved to a farm near Mannheim, Ontario

1853 Ordained as a deacon of the Latchar Mennonite congregation

1859 Ordained as a minister of the Latchar congregation; served here until his death

1874 Became the first Sunday school superintendent for the Latchar congregation

1898 Died
