Historical Committee of the conference also deserve a word of appreciation for the hard work which they gave to this project. Two editors of this series, Studies in Anabaptist and Mennonite History, also gave generously of their time and energy: Guy F. Hershberger and Melvin Gingerich. Throughout the preparation and publication of this monograph, the author has been gracious and cooperative. We now commend the volume, not only to scholars everywhere, but also to the people who compose the congregations with which this volume deals.
