6. Began as a Sunday school held on June 2, 1946, under the direction of the Conestoga and Rock congregations, Morgantown, Pa., in an old church called Friedens. Seven months later preaching services were held for the first time. In Febuary 1951 T. K. Hershey was installed as first pastor and bishop of
Zion Church. July 21, 1951, the work was transferred to a former Methodist Episcopal church building.

Three and one-half miles west of Bluffton, Ohio, on Columbus GroveBluffton Rd. Cemetery is on north side of the road; church site is on opposite side of road on south side. Bluffton, Ohio.
Organized in 1848 near Bluffton in Allen County; first known as Riley Creek Church. First meetinghouse erected in 1862, replaced in 1892. First settler 1848. First minister, John Thut. In the late 1920's the congregation voted to disband. The majority of the members united with the General Conference Mennonite Church in Bluffton, Ohio, the First Mennonite Church.
