Committee of Lee Heights Church, Cleveland, Ohio, approved a proposal to begin a new congregation at UniversityEuclid in Cleveland. On Sept. 8, 1963, the first service was held at the Charles Orr School at 9711 Lamont Ave., and continues there until the new building is erected. Warner Jackson of Lee Heights is in charge. In December 1963 Jackson was ordained for the work at University-Euclid. Congregation is organized as an autonomous local congregational entity, and relates itself to its sponsors as a cooperative body. Sponsored by the Ohio Mission Board and the Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities. The pastor is a teacher in the public school system. Pastoral support is minimal and the budget for the University-Euclid Church is considerably lower than other comparable inner-city efforts. See Lee Heights and Gladstone.
