6. Worship services alternated between the north and south districts until first meetinghouse was erected in 1855, called Kanagv Church. New building in 1876 called the King Church, later South Union. Services also alternated between Walnut Grove meetinghouse, three miles west of South Union Church, and South Union until 1929 when Walnut Grove was closed. First permanent Mennonite Sunday school in the United States was started in June 1863, organized by David Plank, with the consent of the ministry.
