The Amish lived less than 30 years (1830-60) north of Martinsburg, Ohio. Minister Isaac Smucker moved to Indiana in 1841. Extinct.
Kolb's 1830
Holmes County Road 187, 3/4 mile north of Ohio Rt. 62 at Winesburg, Ohio.
So named for Preacher Jacob Kolb. Log church erected in 1833; services alternated between Kolb's and Longenecker's. The new Kolb's meetinghouse was dedicated July 18, 1908. Services discontinued in 1948; the building was sold and moved in 1954. See also Longenecker's and Longenecker-Kolb District.
Lackawanock 1848
Organized about 1848 in Mercer County, Pa., north of New Wilmington. Cemetery still in title of the Mennonite Church. First settler 1842. First minister, Joseph Bixler (1778-1862), a bishop from Masontown, Pa. His nephew, Joseph S. Bixler (1813-95), ordained a bishop in Owen County, Indiana, was a prominent leader in the Mennonite Church in Columbiana and Mahoning counties in Ohio, and in the councils of the Ohio Mennonite Conference. The last services were conducted by ministers from Mahoning County, Ohio, about 1890. Extinct.

Landis Meetinghouse
Lancaster, Ohio.
Built near Lancaster, Ohio, by Martin Landis, Sr., who settled in Fairfield County in 1799. Landis was an uncle of Christian Newcomer, the Doted United Brethren bishop who traveled extensively. The building was used as a union meetinghouse by Mennonites, Lutherans, and others. The Mennonites built the Pleasant Hill meetinghouse near Bremen, Ohio, in 1835.
