Harmony 1818

Pa. Rt. 19 north of Harmony, Pa.

Organized in 1818 at Harmony, Pa., in Butler County. Meetinghouse erected in 1825; still maintained. First settler 1815. First minister, Bishop John Boyer. Harmony congregation was a member of the Ohio Mennonite Conference. Bishops of the Columbiana-Mahoning District provided oversight. Last regular service in 1910. Unique in American Mennonite history, Abraham Zeigler purchased large tract of land including the village of Harmony with the appurtenances from the Harmony Society, later
