6. Organized as a mission station under the Ohio Mission Board at the request of several families from surrounding communities who had moved in partly because land was more reasonable. About a year later it became organized as an independent congregation under the Ohio and Eastern Mennonite Conference.

Guilford

Take Medina Co. Rd. 97 west from Wadsworth 5 and 1/4 miles, then north 1, and 1/6 mile on Medina Co. Rd. 41. Guilford Rd., Wadsworth, Ohio.

The first Mennonite meetinghouse in Medina County was built on the plot of ground where the present Maple Hill Wisler Church is located. The second meetinghouse, Guilford, was north of Maple Hill. Date of deed for Guilford, 4-22-1856. Services alternated between Maple Hill and Guilford meetinghouses. The Wisler Mennonites and the Bethel congregation both used Guilford meetinghouse. Bethel abandoned Guilford in 1930, and in 1942 the Wisler Mennonites sold the meetinghouse. Cemetery fund
