6. Began in 1917 as a mission station or branch of the Martin's Creek congregation. The first meeting was held in March of 1918 in the face of bitter opposition from local people because of the Mennonite peace stand; organized as a separate congregation in 1944.

Bethany 1936
Organized in 1936 by members of Salem-Pike District who refused to secede from conference. Services held in Dutch Hollow schoolhouse. First minister, J. B. Smith. In 1941 the Ohio and Eastern Conference requested that Bethany congregation be given the Salem meetinghouse, when Pike and Salem were reinstated in conference. (See Salem, Elida, Ohio.)
