The Tenth Prayer: For Political Authorities We pray, O holy Father, for all sorts of people throughout the whole, wide world, for whom it is still possible to pray. Protect especially all devout governments throughout the whole wide earth, and be especially merciful to all those under whom you have your people. And may their hands not cause innocent blood to flow, but give them grace to reign according to your holy will for which purpose you have established them: to plant and protect the good, and to eliminate and punish the evil, so that we, and all those who fear your holy name may lead a quiet and peaceful life here on earth.
