Introduction
 
            The official documents and minutes of the Mennonite Board of Missions were transferred to the Archives by the Mission Board in 1942, by J. D. Graber, Secretary, in 1950, and by the Mission Board on a continuing basis in 1958 until 1971.
 
            For minutes after the reorganization of the Mennonite Board of Missions in 1971, see under IV-6-7.

Articles of Incorporation, 1906, and By-Laws, 1953:

            Includes a typed copy of the June 20, 1906 Articles of Incorporation, in the State of Ohio, as signed by Christian P. Steiner, Menno S. Steiner, David S. Yoder, Lewis J. Lehman and Abram Metzler.  Corporation was located at Rittman, Wayne County, Ohio.
 
            Includes proposed By-Laws, May 18, 1953, as sent out by J. D. Graber to members of the board.
 
            Includes By-Laws, June 1953, as adopted at Annual Meeting, Harrisonburg, Virginia
 
            Includes an Attachment 2, which outlines the work of the General Board, the Executive Committee, the Personnel Committee, the Overseas Mission Committee.

Regulations and Policies, 1906-1969:

            Includes a Certificate of Incorporation (typed copy), June 20, 1906.
 
            Includes the Regulation of the Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities, 11 pages (blue mimeograph in legal folder), undated.  Probable date is 1906.  This board was seen as the successor to the Mennonite Evangelizing and Benevolent Board, and to the Mennonite Board of Charitable Homes and Missions.
 
            Names on this "Regulation" document include Menno S. Steiner as President, C. Z. Yoder as Vice-President, J. S. Shoemaker as Secretary, I. R. Detweiler as Field Secretary, G. L. Bender as Treasurer, S. H. Musselman as Eastern Treasurer, and Joseph R. Stauffer as Western Treasurer.
 
            Other names on this "Regulation" document include 27 persons named under the "Board of Trustees," 5 persons named on "Executive Committee", and 21 persons names under five "Local Board of Trustees" including Chicago Home Mission, Fort Wayne Mission, Old People's Home, Orphan's Home, and Mission Committee.
 
            Includes updated "Regulations", including one dated 1936.
 
            Includes City Missionary Policy, undated.  Maybe around 1906.  Has Ben B. King's name on it, Fort Wayne Mission.
 
            Includes letter of August 30, 1915, outlining a Committee to work out policy for mission stations, probably written by J. S. Hartzler.
 
            Includes a Constitution, undated, probably 1951-52, and a paper on "Constitutional changes suggested."
 
            Includes a overview of organization and departments of the Mission Board, when John Moseman was president.  No date.
 
            Includes resolutions adopted by the Mission Board, July 2-6, 1969.  Printed document.

 
Committees and Boards Appointed, 1915, 1954-57:

            Includes Investigation Committee appointed November 29, 1915, to consider the general organization for the Sisters Aid Societies, under the direction of Clara Eby Steiner.  Committee consisted of C. Z. Yoder, D. D. Miller and G. L. Bender.
 
            Includes committees and boards appointed on an annual basis in July 1954 through to July 1957
 
Papers of Certification, 1944-1968:

            Includes "certification" documents filed with with Elkhart County, verifying the officers of the board, including the financial agent who works with real estate that the Board owns.
