Kennedy, Adele J.

Adele J. Kennedy, 40, Wauseon, died Saturday afternoon, July 28, 2001, at Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo, where she was a patient since June 12.


            Born May 10, 1961, in  Lowville, N.Y., she was a daughter of Lloyd and Minnie (Gerig) Chaffee, and married Mark Kennedy on Feb. 14, 1982. She lived most of her lifetime in the Wauseon area, and provided day care services. She had served as newsletter editor for MOPS, and was a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church, where she was active with Mennonite Women,
            Surviving is her husband, Mark; one son, Matt Kennedy; one daughter, Samantha Kennedy, both at home; her mother, Minnie Chaffee, Wauseon; three sisters; Mrs. David (Twila) Stoltzfus, and Mrs. Larry (Betty) Sutter, both of Harrisonburg, Va., and Mrs. Vern (Elaine) Rupp, Wauseon.
            Memorial services are today, Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the West Clinton Mennonite Church. James Roynon and Edward Diener are the officiating pastors. Burial will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Klopfenstein, Elsie M.

ARCHBOLD - Elsie M. Klopfenstein, 87, Archbold, died Saturday morning [Nov. 10,2001] at Heartland of Wauseon, where she had resided since Tuesday.
She was born Aug. 14, 1914, near Archbold, the daughter of Aaron and Mary (Short) Grieser. In 1937, she married Alton Klopfenstein, who survives. She worked for 20 years at Superior Carbon, West Unity, where she retired, and at the former Jim's Red and White. She was a member of Central Mennonite Church, near Archbold.
Also surviving are a son, Merle, Archbold; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Sharon) Lantz of Archbold and Mrs. Tom (Shirley) Nafziger, Hampton, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Isaac (Clela) Stoll and Mrs. Leonard (Lois) King, both of Archbold; and 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-stepgrandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Roger; two daughters, Linda Nafziger, and infant, Connie; a brother, Ernest Grieser; four sisters, Leora Nafziger, and Verna, Mable Ann and Ada Grieser.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Revs. Jeffrey Smith, Cliff Brubaker and Charles Gautsche officiating. Burial is an hour prior to services Tuesday in Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Monday in Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
