Miller, Vesta A.

Vesta A. Miller, 86, Goshen, Ind., died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, in Carriage Manor, Goshen.

        Born Dec. 24, 1911, in Archbold, she was the daughter of William and Ruth (Frey) Nafziger.  In 1941, she married S. Paul Miller, who survives.  A teacher for six years in Pettisville, she did missionary work in India for 50 years.  She was a member of College Mennonite Church.

        Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Elaine) Haines, Souderton, Pa.; and Mrs. Larry (Eleanor) Miller, Strabourg, France; a son James, Shipshewana, ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Helen) Huffman [Er.--Kaufman], Tiskilwa, Ill., and Mrs. Kenneth (Lois) Nofziger, Pettisville; four brothers, Ervin, Glen and Lester Nafziger, all of Archbold; and Ivan Nafziger, Pettisville; and eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

        Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in College Mennonite Church, Goshen.  There was a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday in West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon.  Burial was in Pettisville Cemetery with private services at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Mull, Verda A.

Verda A. Mull, 81, rural Wauseon, died Thursday evening, Sept. 24, 1998, at The Arbors, in Sylvania.  She had been in failing health the last year.

        Born in Fulton County on Jan. 12, 1917, she was the daughter of Jonathan and Amelia (Sauder) Nafziger.  She married Chauncy Mull in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1984.  She was an active member of Tedrow Mennonite Church.

        She farmed along with her husband Chauncy most of her life.  She also worked at Figy's Dressing Plant in Wauseon and volunteered at the Sauder Village, where she made noodles and quilted.

        Surviving is one son, Daniel Mull, Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Wilhelm (Vera Williams ) Schmidt, Archbold; Mrs. Lawrence (Marjorie) Hilty, Pandora; and Sylvia Merillat Beck, Archbold.

        Funeral services were Sunday, 3 p.m., at the Tedrow Mennonite Church with Rabdy Nafziger as the officiating pastor.  Burial followed at Pettisville Cemetery.
